
TOKYO: Tibet House, Japan held a prayer service for the departed souls of Tibetans who had given their life for freedom in Tibet at Jouenji Temple at Shinjuku city, Tokyo, Japan on 31 July.
Many Tibetans and Tibetan supporters have gathered that day to show condolence and solidarity with the sudden prison death of Tulku Tenzin Delek Rinpoche – political prisoner and highly respected religious figure- and others who sacrificed their lives for the sake of freedom inside Tibet.
An hour-long prayer service was presided over by Representative Mr. Lungok and Mr. Ikiya Kaoru, producer and director of the Japanese documentary film – LUNGTA – on self-immolation in Tibet. He briefly explained on the making of this film and shared his research findings on self-immolation.
The film is running in many movie theaters in Japan at present.
