Dharamshala: Mr. Jamphel Choesang has taken charge as the new election commissioner and the chairman of the public service commission at a ceremony held this morning at the Kashag secretariat.Mr. Choesang was appointed to the post earlier by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.Senior officials of the Central Tibetan Administration including the auditor general, all the secretaries, chief planning officer and the representatives of Gadhong and Nechung monasteries attended the ceremony.Mr. Jamphel Choesang has been serving in the Central Tibetan Administration for more than twenty-five years in various capacities since 1980. He had served as the secretary in Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New Delhi for six years, served two years in the private office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. His last post as a civil servent is the secretary of the Department of Security. Mr. Choesang also served as the representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in South Africa and France.
