Dharamshala: From 28th to 29th of June 2007, the Office of the Planning Commission undertook a gender mainstreaming into project training for the project officers of central Tibetan Administration at Asia Resort.
A total of 14 trainees working at project officers’ capacity from different offices attended this workshop.
It is hoped that through this training, the development activities of CTA will be in tune with the divergent needs of men and women, resulting in an equitable development outcomes for both the gender.
The workshop covered topics like theoretical concepts of gender, the world and our community status, causes and processes leading to gender inequality, gender and development, tools and frameworks in gender analysis, Gender mainstreaming into projects etc.
As an exercise, the participants analyzed couple of CTA projects on gender sensitivity and felt that there is a lot we can do to make them more gender sensitive.
