Dharamshala: A resolution on Tibet was adopted at the Inter-parliamentary Conference on Human Rights and Religious Freedom, held in Washington D.C. from 28 November to 1 December.
The resolution says “Patriotic Re-education campaigns continue to be carried out by security and police officials in Tibetan Buddhist monasteries with the intention of forcing practitioners to abandon their allegiance to basic tenets of their faith and its religious leaders.”
Geshe Thupten Phelgye and Dolma Tsomo represented the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies at the conference.
This is the third session of the Inter-parliamentary Conference on Human Rights and Religious Freedom.
