
Dharamshala: The Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association (ITFA), Dharamshala, held an important meeting to discuss the nomination of the Association’s President and to review the recently concluded Himalayan Festival 2025. The meeting was chaired by Vice President-cum-Tibetan Settlement Officer, Kunchok Migmar.
In his opening remarks, Kunchok Migmar highlighted the significance of the Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association, emphasising that it is a Tibet support group and not a political organisation. He urged all members to think carefully and responsibly while selecting a hardworking and committed individual for the post of President.
During the meeting, the former President and Advisor, Ram Swaroop, along with Advisor and Ward Councillor Onkar Nehria, Advisor Subhas Nehria, shared their valuable views on leadership and the future direction of the Association. Senior leaders and other members also actively participated in the discussion, expressing their opinions and suggestions.
After extensive deliberations, the majority of members unanimously agreed to nominate Ajit Nehria as President, Dinesh Kapoor as Vice President, and Nirmal as General Secretary.
Vice President Kunchok Migmar congratulated the newly nominated office bearers and presented them with traditional Tibetan ceremonial scarves. Other members also extended their congratulations and best wishes.
The newly elected President, Vice President, and General Secretary expressed their gratitude and shared their feelings, collectively pledging to work sincerely for the Association and to continue supporting Tibetan issues.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the final Association Members’ Get-Together Dinner of 2025, held at the Tibetan Settlement Office Community Hall. The event ended on a joyful note with members performing local Gaddi group dances, along with Tibetan and Hindi dances, celebrating unity and friendship.
