Delhi: As countries across the world continue to suffer the consequences of the Wuhan originated COVID-19 pandemic, many around the world are uniting to fight against the disease as well as the repressive regime that aggravated the crisis by suppressing key information at a critical time.
The global community have taken a major step to boycott “Made in China”. Its neighbouring country India have faced a dual challenge of fighting the pandemic and the Chinese incursions at the Indo-Tibet border, couple by the influence on South Asia & one belt one road initiatives.
On 15th August which marked India’s 74th Independence day, India Tibet Friendship Society organized a Webinar on “Himalaya Bachao & Tibbat ki Azadi Bharat ki Suraksha”.
ITFS Convener Prof. Anand Kumar in his opening remarks welcomed members for joining the important session. He lamented that Tibet is still suffering under Communist China at a time when India, its century-old neighbour is celebrating its 74th Independence Day. ‘The culture and identity of Tibetan people are on the verge of disappearing. To gain Tibet’s Independence and to protect India’s future, the organization should strive to achieve it,’ he remarked.
Prof. Vidya Sagar Negi urged Govt of India to present Bharat Ratna to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama who is the global symbol of peace and global spiritual leader.
Deputy Speaker of Tibetan Parliament in Exile Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok said that Tibet will be free soon and it will be achieved through peace and non-violence.
Smt. Resham Bala representing the ITFS Women Wing addressed the participants and also with the celebration of India’s independence fully supported the independence of Tibet.
Delivering the vote of thanks, ITFS-Organizing Secretary Dr. Manoj Kumar expressed his hope that the Tibet movement will gain much momentum post the pandemic.
The webinar was attended by more than 35 participants of various Tibet Support Groups as ITFS Co- Convener-Sh. Surender Kumar, Sh. Adhvan Selvam- Puducherry, Sh. Niranjan Umpati- Karnataka, Sh. Prabhat Kumar, Sh. Om Prakash Pramar, Mr. Michael Hubert, Sh. Abhishek Ranjan, Sh. Shelja Shankar Narayan, Smt. Sapna Negi, Sh. Suman Ojha, Sh. Kishanlal Genwa, Mr. Ankit Anand, Sh. Anjani Kumar Pandey, Sh. Rajagaja Indra and other participants.
