
DHARAMSHALA: Antarashtriya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Samiti, a Tibet Support Group and IIMT Groups of College, jointly organised a seminar on the issue of Tibet in Meerut to mark the 64th anniversary of the International Human Rights Day on 10 December.
Hundreds of people including teachers, students, and Tibet supporters attended the seminar “We stand in Solidarity with Tibet” at IIMT Groups of College.
Mr Inder Singh Namdhari, a Member of Parliament of Indian parliament, who was the chief guest, spoke on the communist Chinese government’s aggression on India in 1962.
Addressing the seminar, Dr N K Trikha, National Convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause, the international community, especially India and the United States, must stand with a firm commitment in resolving the issue of Tibet.
Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Member of Parliament, Tibetan Parliament in Exile, spoke on the Chinese government’s repressive policies in Tibet, which he said are resulting in tragic self-immolations by Tibetans in protest.
Mr K B Bakshi, President, Antarashtriya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Samiti, underlined thet efforts to highlight the issue of Tibet through the Internet must be strengthened.
New Delhi based India Tibet Coordination Office disseminated Tibet related books in Hindi to the participants.
