Dharamshala: “Amidst the ongoing crisis inside Tibet, I have a sizeable responsibility to uphold and safeguard the Tibetan culture and religion. It gives me a certain degree of satisfaction to realise that I have been able to adequately serve the Tibetan cause and people. Moreover, I aspire to live for another 10 years to continue my service,” His Holiness the Dalai Lama remarked while thanking the CTA leadership and Tibetan people for the long life offering made to him this morning at Tsuglagkhang.
The long-life offering made by CTA today represents the collective aspirations of six million Tibetans and their fervent prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s long and healthy life. The elaborate ceremonial offering was attended by the heads of the three pillars of Tibetan democracy, Kalons, Parliamentarians, senior officials as well as heads of independent offices of CTA.

His Holiness assured the gathering of his good health while demonstrating his competence and determination to surrender his incarnated existence in the service of promoting Buddha dharma and fulfilling the collective aspirations of the Tibetan people.
“I am determined to live for more than a hundred years to serve humanity. Similarly, all of you should collectively pray,” said His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The repeated declaration of such affirmation by His Holiness sends renewed hope and strength to all his devotees and well-wishers around the world, particularly the Tibetan people whose hope and trust in their spiritual leader is unyielding and strong.
