
Ulan Baatar, Mongolia: Honorary Representative Telo Tulku Rinpoche paid an official visit to Mongolia on 19 June 2019. Upon arrival he paid a courtesy call to the Indian Embassy in Ulan Baatar, Mongolia. He met with the new Indian Ambassador Hon. M.P. Singh. Ambassador Singh took charge recently to his post and Telo Tulku Rinpoche briefed him on Tibet-Mongolia spiritual, economic, political and social relations, historically as well as the current relations. Also, the Ambassador was briefed on the importance of bilateral relation between the people of India, Mongolia and Tibetans.
Telo Tulku Rinpoche gave a full report on the status of Tibetans living in Mongolia who are assisting in the field of spiritual Education and thanked the Indian Government on behalf of all Tibetans for India’s continuous support. Ambassador Singh assured that he and staff will assist Tibetans living in Mongolia as well as Mongolians who wish to go to India for Buddhist Studies at Tibetan institutions.
So far there are over 500 Mongolian studying in various Tibetan Institutions across India mainly in South India at Drepung Gomang Monastery and Sera Jey Monastery.
The following day, Honorary representative Telo Tulku Rinpoche met with Mr Baatarbileg, the Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports and gave him an overview of SEE Learning curriculum which was globally launched earlier in April. The curriculum is being translated into Mongolian language and is near completion. The Minister took a keen interest in the project and asked to give him and the education implementing committee a presentation on the SEE Learning project once the translation is complete.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister and Honorary representative exchanged souvenirs and promised to meet again in the near future.
