Dharamshala: Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang of Department of Home, CTA visited Shimla Yangchen Gatseling Tibetan Settlement and addressed the members of the settlement on 1 November.
Shimla: In his address, Kalon extended his greetings on behalf of the Kashag and pronounced the purpose of his visit.
“As part of Kashag’s effort towards making the public aware on the policies and various initiatives of the administration, it is important to have direct interaction with the public,” Kalon said.
Kalon informed on the outcomes of the series Five-Fifty Forums and the recently held 3rd special general meeting. Kalon also informed on Sikyong’s international tours to garner support for Tibet’s cause and the awareness sought on our issue.
“The general public’s participation in these meetings have created more awareness and thus fulfils the aim to make responsible citizens of Tibet.”
Home Kalon on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s kindness and great-fulness said that the best way to express gratitude is to fulfil his aspirations.
Further, he highlighted on the importance of imparting quality education and investing on education to create more professionals.
He addressed on the problems of the settlement and asked to submit detailed proposal and estimations of the projects.
After the talk, Kalon inspected the project site and residential building blocks. Followed by a visit to Dorjee Drak monastery.
In the evening, Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang attended the retirement farewell event hosted by Shri. V.C. Pharka, former Chief Secretary and Advisor to HCM. The event was also attended by Kasur Gyari Dolma, Tenzin Norbu – Chief Representative Shimla, CRO staff and representatives of monasteries.
