
DHARAMSHALA: Mrs. Ida Van Gulik, Chairperson of the E.C.H Eversdijk Smulders Stiching, a humanitarian organisation based in the Netherlands, along with her husband paid a site visit to on-going housing project for 72 New Arrival Tibetan Families in Bir area on 21 October. She was accompanied by Kalon Dolma Gyari, Secretary Sonam T. Khorlatsang and the project officers of Department of Home.
Kalon Dolma Gyari and the Secretary greeted the two Tibet supporters by offering traditional scarves and thanked her organisation’s long-standing humanitarian aid in new construction/renovation of homes and natural disaster relief in Tibetan settlements. During formal meeting at Guest House in Bir, Kalon requested short fund of Rs. 158.24 Lakhs needed to complete the ongoing housing project to which she agreed to discuss the same in their forthcoming board meeting and will inform us the outcome of board members decision.
The total project cost of the Bir Housing is 768.64 lakhs and the E.C.H. Everdijk Smulders Stichting organinsation has already accepted to fund Rs. 432 lakhs.
Thereafter, they visited the project site and were given a rousing welcome by the project beneficiaries with ceremonial scarves. They thanked the donors for their financial support without which the project would not materialize. Finally, the lunch was served in their honour at the Guest House.
