Dharamsala: Home Kalon visited Sonamling Tibetan Settlement and Leh, Ladakh from 24 to 28 August. During his visit, Kalon attended the inaugural ceremony of 18th Annual Conference of 15 Tibetan Cooperatives in India on 25 August, as the Guest of Honour.
On the same day, Kalon paid a courtesy call to Dorjee Ngodup, Chief Executive counselor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Assistant Chief Executive Counselor, Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police and other government officials at Leh Ladakh.
As requested by the Home Kalon to the CEC, LAHDC Leh, the CEC had summoned the district administrator meeting with the Kalon at his chamber. The meeting was chaired by Chief Executive Councilor and was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police and other government official heads.
In the meeting, issues faced by the Tibetan refugees were discussed specifically on socio-economic strengthening of the Changthang areas and further implementation of the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy-2014.
The chairperson directed all the concerned officials to take decision on solving the problems faced by Tibetans at the earliest possible.
Public meeting of Sonamling Tibetan Settlement was also held on 27 August at TCV Hall, in which the Kalon introduced Changthang schemes and the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy-2014 to the public. He thoroughly attended all the queries raised in the meeting by the public.
Tsetan Wangchuk, Chief Representative Officer of Sonamling Tibetan Settlement and Migmar Bhuti, Dealing Staff of Home Department accompanied the Kalon.
