
DHARAMSHALA: Kalon Gyari Dolma of the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration met with chief minister Shri Virbhadra Singh of Himachal Pradesh this morning.
The chief minister is in Dharamshala to attend the winter session of the Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly which is held in Kangra district.
Home Kalon requested assistance from the Chief Minister towards five major problems faced by Tibetans living in Himachal Pradesh.
She requested the chief minister to extend state subsidies like sugar and other items to the Tibetan refugees. She also requested him to expedite the problems faced by Tibetan roadside vendors at Mcleod Ganj.
Home Kalon urged the chief minister to reduce the rate of land lease to CTRC from 10% to 2%. She requested de-notification of forest lands and asked for regularisation of these lands on lease to the individual residents or to the CTRC as per letter of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
She also brought the Chief Minister’s attention to the urgent case of the Tibetan refugees at Sanjuli, Shimla and requested him to include the Tibetan community in the Rajiv Gandhi Awaj Yojna Scheme.
Home Kalon was accompanied by Mr. Palden Dhondup, Additional Secretary, Mrs. Karma Dolma, Under Secretary and PA Mr. Tenzin Losel.
Home Kalon yesterday met former Chief Minister P K Dhumal and other ministers in the Opposition Lounge at Vidhan Sabha.
