
NEW DELHI: The Department of Home of the Central Tibetan Administration today organised a farewell session for the 4th batch comprising 10 Tibetans from Miao settlement, Arunachal Pradesh who will be leaving for Toronto, Canada. The event was held at the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The group is departing for Canada tomorrow, 25 January.
Addressing the Tibetans, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Representative Kasur Tempa Tsering told them to be good Tibetans and maintain the unique identity of Tibetans. He said they should fulfil their responsibility as a Tibetan representative and uphold the dignity of Tibetans as advised by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He urged them to preserve Tibetan language and guide their children to do so in the future. He said they have a duty to explain to the general public about why Tibetans are driven into exile, the destruction of Tibet’s cultural heritage and the sufferings of their brethren under the Chinese rule inside Tibet. He also remind them of their duty to pay voluntary contribution (Chatrel) to the Central Tibetan Administration.
Speaking to the group on the occasion, Mr Dhondup Dorjee, Additional Secretary of Home Department, advised the group to preserve the rich Tibetan moral values and always remember the core teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to maintain the dignity of Tibetans. He told them to work hard in their jobs and follow the law of the land. He distributed the a copy of the Middle-Way Approach published by the DIIR to each of them to study it so that they could explain the core issue of Tibet to the international community during their stay in Canada.
