Dharamshala: Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration inaugurated a conference on ‘Management of administrative work’ for the Tibetan settlement officers from India, Bhutan and Nepal at Nyatri hall, Gangkyi. 45 settlement officers have gathered to attend the conference.
The conference deliberated on Workforce Information System, a project under Department of Home which aims to bridge the gap between Tibetan community’s current workforce to meet the emerging workforce situations which helps in planning program, strategies, workforce planning and more importantly to assess the skills and training needs and Implementation Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy, 2014 in respective settlements.
Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang, Department of Home, CTA, who was the key speaker, highlighted the significance of the ongoing population census of Tibetan population in India. He said the lack of demographic data on Tibetans in exile has in the past raised inconveniences for the relevant offices of the Government of India.
Kalon said the new survey led by the Department of Home aims to gather individual bio-data, occupation and education qualifications and other importan details. He further spoke on Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy 2014.
