His Holinessïž’ message to East Timorese President

Dharamshala: His Holiness the
Dalai Lama has sent a message to Dr. Jose Ramos-Horta President of
Democratic Republic of Timor, who was injured in an assassination
attempt, outside his Dili home on 11 February.
His Holiness, in his email message on 11 February, said: “I am
sorry to learn that you have been injured in an attack earlier this
morning. I hope that you recover fully and swiftly so that you may
resume your duties as soon as possible.”
According to media reports President Ramos-Horta is undergoing medical treatment in a hospital in Darwin, northern Australia.
President Ramos-Horta, 58, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996 for his struggle for East Timor’s independence from Indonesia.
