HIS HOLINESS’ VISIT TO CZECH REPUBLIC, SLOVENIA,CROATIA
OOT, Budapest 3 July, 2002: His Holiness the Dalai Lama is scheduled to visit Czech Republic, Slovenia and Croatia from June 29 – July 9,2002. While President Vaclav Havel is inviting His Holiness to the Czech republic, he is invited to Slovenia by the University of Ljubljana and by the Croatian Academic Society and NGOs of Croatia.
His Holiness is visiting Slovenia and Croatia for the first time.
His Holiness is visiting Czech Republic from June 29 – July 4,2002. During his stay in the capital Prague, His Holiness is scheduled to meet President Havel, Senators and MPs of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
His Holiness is scheduled to visit Slovenia from July 4 – 6,2002. The University of Ljubljana will present Honorary Senatorship to His Holiness. Meetings with Parliamentarians and government officials will take place during his stay in Ljubljana.
From July 6 – 9,2002 in Croatia, His Holiness will be declared “Man of the Year- Man of Dialogue”by the Croatian Academic Society. His Holiness will pray with Archbishop of Split at the Cathedral of St. Domnius.
During visit to these countries,His Holiness is scheduled to give academic lecture on “Buddhist Approach to Inter-religious Dialogue” in Zagreb, a talk to students and faculty members of the University of Ljubljana and public talk in all the three countries. Subjects for the talk include “Power of Compassion”and Ëthics for the New Millennium”.
His Holiness will return to India on July 9,2002.
