His Holiness to give teachings at Varanasi

Dharamshala: His Holiness the Dalai Lama will tomorrow begin a three-day teaching on The commentary of Bodhicitta by Nagarjuna, at the Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS) in Varanasi.
Accompanied by Gyalwa Karmapa Rinpoche, the head of the Karma Kagyud tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was yesterday received at the Varnasi airport by Lama Thubten Rinpoche, the head of the organizing committee for the teaching, and Geshe Ngawang Samten, the director of the CIHTS.
The motorcade of His Holiness was greeted by a long stretch of some 200 devotees, on both sides of the route up to the main entrance of the Vajra Vidhya Institute, where His Holiness the Dalai Lama consecrated a statue of the Buddha. The head of the monastery, Tranghu Rinpoche, also presented an elaborate Mandala offering to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
After the luncheon at the monastery, His Holiness then proceeded to the CIHTS, where a huge gathering of the studentS and staff of the Centre, along with devotees from across the globe, accorded a grand welcome to His Holiness.
