TAIPEI:
The Shih Hsin University, a graduate school for Social Transformation
Studies of Taiwan, hosted a lecture series on human rights,
international laws and Tibet on last Thursday (24 March). The
university invited many experts to speak on these subjects during the
lecture series. Mr Dawa Tsering, Representative of His Holiness the
Dalai Lama to Taiwan, was also invited to speak on Tibet. Mr
Dawa Tsering spoke in detail about Tibet’s religion, culture and its
history. He also briefed the participants on the present situation of
Tibetan people both in and outside Tibet. He gave detail information
about the issue of Tibet, particularly on the efforts made by the
Tibetan side to resolve the Tibetan problem through the Middle Way
policy.He also took many questions from the students following
his two-and-a-half hour talk. “It is very clear that we are now
witnessing a growing interest among the students in many university and
college to learn about the religion, culture and history of Tibet,” the
office of Tibet said in a statement.Representative Mr Dawa
Tsering has also received an invitation to speak on Tibetan religion
and the Panchen Lama at Shi Fan Normal University. This university is
one of the most renowned universities in Taiwan.
