Dharamshala: His Holiness the Dalai Lama left Dharamshala yesterday for a four-day visit to Denmark and Iceland from 30 May – 2 June.His Holiness will give a day and a half teaching on Nagarjuna’s Commentary on Bodhicitta (jangchup semdrel) and Kamalashila’s The Middling Stages of Meditation (gomrim barpa) at the Bella Center in Copenhagen from 30 – 31 May.His Holiness with meet members of Foreign Affairs Committee and members of Parliaments from various political parties.On 31 May, His Holiness will confer audience for Tibetans, representatives of Tibet-related support groups and NGOs. His Holiness will give an interview to a newspaper and TV documentary on Tibet, followed by a meeting with board members of Tibet Charity.His Holiness will also meet Mrs Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Leader of Denmark’s Social Democratic Party.His Holiness will give a public talk on “Peace Through Inner Peace” at the Bella Center.During his visit to Iceland from 31 – 2 June, His Holiness will meet Mr Swaminathan, Indian ambassador in Iceland.His Holiness will interview with Stod2 TV Producer Jon Arsell, whose programmes have received various awards. There is also scheduled press meeting and Interview with Morgunbladid, Oldest newspaper in Iceland.His Holiness will attend a special inter-religious peace and prayer meeting with Bishop of Iceland, His Grace Sigurbjornsson.His Holiness will attend a TV discussion programme with Mr Andri Snaer Magnason, well-known writer and environmentalist, which is to be produced and filmed by renowned filmmaker Dagur Kari.His Holiness will confer audience for Tibetans, members of Friends of Tibet – Iceland and Mongolians.His Holiness will participate in a seminar at the University of Iceland. Dr Kristin Ingolfdottir, Rector of University of Iceland will welcome His Holiness and Prof Astradur Eysteinsson, Dean of School of Humanities will act as moderate during the seminar.His Holiness is scheduled to meet with Parliament Speaker Mrs Asta Ragnheidur Johannesdottir; followed by meeting with members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.The visit will conclude with a public talk on “Compassion, Values and Happiness” on 2 June.
