
DHARAMSHALA: Tibetans and Tibet supporters, with ceremonial Tibetan scarves in hand, lined the streets of Dharamshala and Mcleod Ganj today to welcome His Holiness the Dalai Lama who returned to his exile hometown following a series of teachings and public talks in New Delhi.
Tibetan Political leader Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, Mr. Penpa Tsering, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament, and Tibetan Justice Commissioners received His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Gaggal airport. Others who came to welcome His Holiness at the airport include Tibetan Parliamentarians and representatives of Tibetan governmental and non-governmental organisations.
During his visit to New Delhi, His Holiness the Dalai Lama conducted a series of successful teachings, participated in a two-day international conference on Science, Ethics and Education, and addressed the inaugural session of a conference on Democracy, where he honored his close friend and former Indian politician Mr. George Fernandes.
His Holiness’ upcoming schedule include a visit to Japan in April, where he will conduct teachings on The Heart Sutra, Nagarjuna’s Commentary on Bodhichitta and confer the Avalokiteshvera Empowerment.
