His Holiness the Dalai Lama returns from Japan visit

Dharamshala: His Holiness the Dalai Lama today returned to Dharamshala after successfully concluding his two-week visit to Japan.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama left Dharamshala on 28 October for Rampur near Shimla where he consecrated the Thungyur Lakhang Buddhist Monastery to mark the 2550th anniversary of Maha Parinirvan (enlightenment) of the Lord Buddha.
From Rampur His Holiness proceeded to Japan. He arrived in Tokyo on 30 Oct 2006. The next day His Holiness gave a religious talk to an audience of over 800 Buddhist priests, Dharma practitioners and general members of Koyasan (Tantric) Buddhist School.
His Holiness left Tokyo on 31 October to Hiroshima, where he participated in the two-day Hiroshima International Peace Summit 2006. The conference was also attended by Nobel Peace Laureates Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Betty Williams.
From 3 to 8 November, His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave teachings at Miyajima Island.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama consecrated a statue of the Maitreya Buddha, also known as Jetsun Jampa Gonpo or the Future Buddha, at Daishoin Temple in Miyajima Island.
On 10 November, His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave a lecture on ‘A Good Heart : The Key to Health and Happiness’ to over 8,000 Japanese and foreigners at Ryogoku-Kokugikan stadium in Tokyo. The public talk was organised by the Tokyo-based Liaison Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for Japan and East Asia.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 11 November met Tibetans and the Tibet supporters in Japan. The next day His Holiness left Japan.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings and message of love, compassion and forgiveness has touched the heart of thousands of Japanese followers and faithful from China and other countries.
From 22-27 November His Holiness the Dalai Lama will give empowerments here at the Main Temple for which the recipients have to observe religious commitments.
