Dharamshala: His Holiness the Dalai Lama presided over the inaugural of the annual Maha Guru Bumtsok prayer ceremony, the offering of a hundred thousand feasts to Maha Guru Padma Sambhava, earlier today at Thekchen Chöling Tsuglakhang in Mcleod Ganj.
Every year, the Department of Religion and Culture, CTA, with assistance and support from Namgyal Monastery, organise this prayer for the good health and long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and for quick resolution of the Tibet issue.
The first day of this year’s five-day Maha Guru Bumtsok was also attended by Acting Chief Justice Commissioner Karma Dadul, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Officiating Sikyong Tharlam Dolma (Kalon of the Department of Education), Kalon Norzin Dolma of the Department of Information and International Relations, Kasur Tsering Phuntsok, and Parliamentarian Ven. Khenpo Kada Ngedup Sonam, along with throngs of devotees and followers of His Holiness.
