DHARAMSHALA: His Holiness the Dalai Lama today left for a four-nation visit of the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Latvia in Europe. The twenty-day visit include a series of public talks, teachings, conferences and symposiums.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will arrive in the United Kingdom on 9 September and on the afternoon of 10 September, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will give a public talk on Compassion in Action organised by Children in Crossfire to be held at the Millennium Forum.
His Holiness will leave for Germany on 12 September and on 13 September, His Holiness will give a public talk on Global Ethics – Shared Values in the afternoon organised by Tibet House Frankfurt to be held at Jahrhunderthalle, Frankfurt. On 14 September, His Holiness will participate in the morning session of a one-day conference on Western Science and Buddhist Perspectives to be held at Jahrhunderthalle.
In Italy, His Holiness will give a public talk on Peace in the morning of 16 September at the Ancient Greek-Roman Theater of Taormina in Sicily. On 17 September, His Holiness will give a public talk on Compassionate Ethics and Interdependence in the morning at Teatro Vittorio Emanuele, Sicily.
On 18 September, His Holiness will give a public talk on Joy Education in the morning at Palermo, Sicily. the next day, His Holiness will give a public talk on Peace through Education in the afternoon organised by the City of Florence at the Mandela Forum in Florence, Tuscany, Italy.
From 20-21 September, His Holiness will participate in a 2-day symposium on Buddhist Science and Modern Science in the fields of Buddhist philosophy and science, the neurosciences, quantum physics, and Western philosophy organized by the University of Pisa and Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa to be held at the Pisa Congress Hall in Pisa, Tuscany, Italy.
In Riga, Latvia, His Holiness will give a 2-day teaching in the mornings on Kamalashila’s The Middling Stages of Meditation (gomrim barpa) and Tsongkhapa’s Concise Stages of the Path to Enlightenment (lamrim dudon) at Skonto Hall.
On 25 September, His Holiness will give a public talk on Harmony Without Boundaries in the afternoon at Skonto Hall.
His Holiness will leave Latvia on 26 September and will return to Dharamshala on 27 September.
