Dharamshala: As part of the Year of Compassion initiative by Central Tibetan Administration, the His Holiness the Dalai Lama Charitable Trust (HHDLCT) has extended support to two local institutions in Dharamshala, namely Tong-Len Charitable Trust School and Harmony Day Center for Differently Abled Children, by providing educational and training materials.
At Tong-Len Charitable Trust School, HHDLCT distributed essential stationery items including notebooks, drawing copies, register copies, pens, pencils, and other supplies. These materials will benefit approximately 2,000 students and support their daily learning activities.
Support was also provided to Harmony Day Center for Differently Abled Children. The Trust distributed books and various sports items such as basketballs, badminton sets, and roller skaters to encourage physical activity among the students. Drawing materials, clay dough, and different types of educational toys were also provided to support creative learning and skill development. In addition, the Trust donated 60 kilograms of wax along with different types of wax moulds for the student’s vocational skill training, which will be used for candle making activities. These materials will benefit approximately 25 students at the school.
This initiative reflects HHDLCT’s continued efforts under the Year of Compassion to support education, creativity, and skill development of students in the community.
