Frankfurt, 12 May 2014 – Minister President Mr. Volker Bouffier and other political leaders of Hessen state of Germany will welcome and meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama tomorrow afternoon at Tibet House Germany soon after his arrival in Frankfurt. His Holiness has been invited to Germany by Frankfurt based Tibet House Germany (Tibethaus Deutschland e.V.).
On 14 May morning, a Meet the Press will be organised due to large media interest.
In the afternoon of 14 May, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will speak on “Self-Awareness and Compassion” at the Fraport Arena in Frankfurt.
Tibetans from all over Germany will gather on 15 May morning for an audience with His Holiness in Frankfurt.
Two major public talks by His Holiness the Dalai Lama have been organised by Tibet House at the Paulskirche, Frankfurt. He will first speak to around 900 children from different schools in Frankfurt on Secular Ethics in Our Common World. In the afternoon, His Holiness will address on Ethics Beyond Religion followed by a discussion with Bishop Dr. Stephan Ackermann (Diocese of Trier) and Prof. Dr. Rainer Forst (Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main). This discussion is jointly hosted by the Goethe University, Frankfurt and the Tibet House Germany.

The German Speakers Association will present its 2014 Award to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 16 May morning prior to His Holiness’ departing for India.
Frankfurt, Germany is the last leg of His Holiness’ four European nations visit. He visited Latvia, Norway and the Netherlands in the last 8 days.
This year marks the 25th anniversary since His Holiness the Dalai Lama received the Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent struggle for freedom for Tibet and his efforts for a peaceful resolution of the Tibet issue through dialogue with China.
This is His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 37th visit to Germany, the first of which was in 1973. Germany is the most visited country in Europe by His Holiness, indicating the tremendous public interest in and support for His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan issue.
