His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrives in Austria

Geneva:His Holiness the Dalai Lama after concluding his successful visit to Portugal, arrives today in Vienna, Austria at the request of the Waldzell Institute.
His Holiness will pay a brief visit to SOS children’s village in Hinterbruehl, which is celebrating its golden jubilee.
Later, His Holiness will attend the annual Waldzell meeting in the famous Abbey Stift in Melk.
On 18 September, His Holiness will take part in the “Dialogue of religious leaders” along with Archbishop Philip, a Ukrainian and head of the department of religious formation, Catechesis and Missionary Work of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, Mr Achmed El Tayyib, Egyptian and rector of Al-Azhar University in Cairo, and David Rosen, Israeli and president of the International Jewish Committee for Inter-religious Consultations.
During the dialogue, the three religious leaders will share their own personal values and their views on other religions and beliefs.
Later afternoon, His Holiness will confer a public audience to 150 Tibetans living in Austria.
At the concluding day of annual Waldzell meeting on 19 September, His Holiness will speak on “Genuine Happiness”. His Holiness will also attend an inter-religious candle light program in the main church.
Next day on 20 September, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will leave for Muenster, Germany to attend an official award ceremony of PhD degree conferred by University of Munster.
The announcement of the University reads “His enduring effort to introduce scientific education in Buddhist monasteries, to motivate scientist to think beyond borders, in combination with a deep belief in scientific methodology, has persuaded the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Münster to honor His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, with the Doctor Honoris Causa in Natural Sciences.”
On 21 September, His Holiness will deliver a public talk on universal responsibility in science and society.
His Holiness will leave Muenster for Neu-Anspach on 22 September. Mr Roland Koch, Chief Minister of Hesse will receive His Holiness on his arrival in Germany. Later, they will visit the open-air museum in Hessenpark, followed by a public talk on friendship by His Holiness.
Next day on 23 September, His Holiness will meet Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel at German Chancellory in Berlin. Dr. Merkel will be the first Chancellor of Germany to officially meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
His Holiness will leave Germany for India on 24 September.
