Dharamshala:
His Holiness the Dalai Lama graced the second match of the Indian
Premier League (IPL) at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket
Stadium in Dharamsala surrounded by the majestic snow-covered
Dhauladhar ranges of the Himalayas, played between King’s XI Punjab
(KXIP) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday afternoon.

Prior
to the match, His Holiness blessed each player and officials by
offering Khata, the traditional Tibetan scarf, and took group photos
with them.

The co-owner of the King’s XI Punjab, Priety Zinta, was seen explaining to His Holiness about cricket during the match.His
Holiness spent almost an hour at the stadium and enjoyed the game, Mr
Tenzin Taklha, Joint Secretary at His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s office,
who accompanied His Holiness to the stadium, said.

Other
dignitaries present on the occasion included Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal,
Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, and Mr Anurag Thakur, President of
the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association.Despite a formidable
total of 192 made by King’s XI Punjab, it lost to Mahendra Singh
Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets.
