Dharamshala: Undisturbed by the latest Chinese tirade against him, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was quoted as having said that he will stick to his Middle-Way Approach to peaceably resolve the issue of Tibet, by forsaking independence for a genuine autonomy.
“Time is running out for us. Our demand is autonomy for Tibet, for preserving and following our religion, culture and environment,” a news story in today’s Indian Express quoted the spiritual and temporal leader of Tibet as saying.
The news story by Jayanth Jacob also underlined that His Holiness was seriously thinking about his successor, adding that he believes a successor from the exile community will be in a better position to continue the works of previous lives, which is in fact the real purpose of reincarnation.
