His Holiness meets Tibetans in Japan
Tokyo, 4 November 2003: His Holiness the Dalai Lama yesterday had a very busy schedule with several audiences including Internationally renowned Scientist – Dr James Lovelock and an interview by Yomiuri Newspaper (the largest daily in Japan). The Indian Charge d’Affaire hosted a private luncheon for His Holiness the Dalai Lama at his residence.
The audiences include the Group audiences for Tibetans and Volunteers who have helped the Office of Tibet, Japan. At a gathering attended by over 70 people including children from the local Tibetan community,
His Holiness laid emphasis on the need to study Buddhist philosophy particularly the law of interdependency, and said that the essence of Tibetan culture is Buddhism. He further advised them to take pride in being a Tibetan and not to forget Tibetan language, and encouraged the Children to learn it.
