His Holiness addresses over 800 Japanese faithful

Hiroshima: His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the entourage arrived safely in Tokyo on 30 Oct 2006. His Holiness was accorded with due courtesy and security protection by the relevant authorities at the airport.
After a full day rest that day, His Holiness the Dalai Lama yesterday gave religious talk to an audience of over 800 Buddhist priests, Dharma practitioners and general members of Koyasan (Tantric) Buddhist School.
This was organized by All Japan Shingonshu (Tantric) Buddhist School. The theme requested to His Holiness to address was World Peace through Buddhist Perspective.
His Holiness emphasised the importance of developing a good heart on individual level as well as family and community level to achieve a lasting peace in the world. In order to develop good heart, His Holiness explained on two ways – Secular education and Religious training. His Holiness said all religions teach the value of compassion, tolerance and self-discipline.
Later His Holiness graced a luncheon hosted by All Japan Shingon Buddhist School. This luncheon was attended by some 400 dignitaries including abbots of many prominent temples.
His Holiness left Tokyo on the day to Hiroshima, where he was received by the organising committee of Hiroshima Peace Conference. This conference will be attended by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Betty Williams, both Nobel Peace Laureates. The conference starts today.
