8 March 2021, Dehradun: Covid Vaccination Centre at Dekyiling Tibetan Center, Dehradun was inaugurated by Dr Dikshit, Medical Officer, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He was received by the Settlement Officer, North Tibetan Supreme Justice Commissioner, Executive Secretary of TPHCC Dekyiling and Chairman and Vice Chairman of Local Tibetan Assembly, Dekyiling.
The Covid Vaccination Center at Dekyiling was granted by the Chief Medical Officer, Dehradun after a series of requests made by the Settlement Officer and Executive Secretary, TPHCC for the past one month. The Settlement Officer extended sincere gratitude to CMO Dehradun and Dr Dikshit for their generous consideration to instituting a separate Vaccination Center for Tibetans residing in Dehradun.
The first vaccine was received by Kyabgon Sakya Gongma Trichen followed by Gyal-yum Kusho, Chewang Tulku and the entourage of Dolma Phodrang who fall in the eligible category of 60 years and above. Kyabgon Sakya Gongma Trichen was received from his residence by the Settlement Officer, North Tibetan Supreme Justice Commissioner and Chair of Local Tibetan Assembly, Dekyiling. The abbots and Tulkus residing in Dehradun have also been vaccinated.
Later in the afternoon, the retired staff of the Central Tibetan Administration currently residing in the Retired Staff Quarter, Dekyiling will be vaccinated. The Covid vaccination team aims to vaccinate 100 people per day and there are around 1500 beneficiaries who are eligible under the 2nd Phase of Vaccination as per rules of Govt of India.
