
DHARAMSHALA: Health Kalon Dr Tsering Wangchuk of the Central Tibetan Administration inaugurated Mentseekhang’s new therapy centre at Mcleod Ganj yesterday. The inauguration was attended by Tsering Tashi, Director, Mentseekhang, Tadin Tsering, personal physician of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the heads of various branch clinics of Mentseekhang.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Health Kalon said that traditional Tibetan medicine also known as Sowa Rigpa, is of immense benefit to the general Tibetan community. The department of health is doing its best to serve the health care needs of the Tibetan community with the joint efforts of traditional Tibetan medicine and western medicine, he said.
He expressed his hope that the therapy centre will benefit countless Tibetans and foreigners alike.
Mild Therapy also known as ‘Jam Ched’ in Tibetan is a unique system of mild, external body therapies used for the treatment of a variety of specific illnesses, as well as improving general health, well-being and wellness of the patient. It utilizes unique techniques and ingredients specific to the Sowa Rigpa system of healing, including many traditional herbal formulae.
