Health Kalon Choekyong Wangchuk declared the year 2020 as the year of gratitude to His Holiness Dalai Lama during his speech at the 15th inter-house athletic meet held at the Tibetan Children’s Village School Chauntra on Saturday.
In the presence were other distinguished dignitaries including two sponsors from England, Mrs. Margaret Ayton and Mrs. Pam Purcell, the President TCV, Mr. Thupten Dorjee, Mr. Sonam Sichoe, the Education Director, TCV School Head Office, the Chairman of the Local Tibetan Assemblies of Bir and Chauntra and the TCV Heads from the sister schools and the general public.
On this auspicious occasion, the children of TCV School Chauntra offered a song to His Holiness the Dalai Lama titled ‘Gyalwai Gyathone Choetrin’ for his countless love and blessings towards humanity.
In addition, Health Kalon lauded the triumphant academic results of the school in their state board exams 2019 following which prizes were distributed to the winners.
On the sidelines, Kalon visited the recently inaugurated TCV School Chauntra’s Snowland Cow Farm consisting of six cows and 4 calves. It is revealed that the milk obtained cows meets the essential nutrition required for the children at the school.
This 15th Inter-House Athletics Meet, 2019 of TCV School Chautra was dedicated to celebrating the 84th birth anniversary and 113 years longevity of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
