Heads of Tibetan hospitals meet

Dharamshala: Beginning today, a three-day budget training cum meeting of the hospital heads and accountants is being organised by the Department of Health of the Central Tibetan Administration at the Gangkyi Hall.
There are 22 participants from 13 regional Tibetan hospitals across India, which are under the jurisdiction of the Health Department.
The meeting began this morning with an introductory speech by the secretary of the Health Department, Tenpa C. Samkhar.

He outlined the importance of maintaining transparency while performing an accountant’s duty. “Otherwise one’s sincere work may be treated with skepticism”, he added.
The acting Kalon Tripa, Kalon Tsering Phunstok who is also Kalon for the Department of Religion and Culture was the chief guest at the event.
Kalon Tsering Phuntsok gave a brief overview on how important it is to adhere to the rules set in the exile Tibetan’s charter for every kind of work because he said, in a democratic society constitution/charter is the supreme law governing its function.
“We have to be mindful of the basic principles of our charter which are non-violence, truth and genuine democracy while carrying our duties”, he added.
He also stressed the importance of doing health related works in hospitals with compassion for they have to deal with patients and people who are suffering.
