German delegation visits Dharamshala

Dharamshala: A 40-member German delegation is on a visit to Dharamshala. The delegation comprises of members of German parliament and German Tibet support group.
The delegation, led by Mr. Friedhelm Ost, member of the German Bundestag (parliament), is here for five days from 29 September to 3 October.
The delegation will receive an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New Delhi on 3 October.
Yesterday they witnessed the Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD) in session. The group was given a standing ovation at the session as the chairperson of the ATPD, Karma Choephel, introduced them as a true and long time supporter of the Tibetan cause.
The delegation yesterday called on Gyalwa Karmapa.
Kalon Tripa, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, hosted a dinner reception for the delegation. They also met chair and vice-chair of the assembly during the lunch break yesterday.
The delegation will meet various non-governmental organisations of the Tibetan community, and will also visit the Tibetan schools here.
