Dharamshala: German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed the situation in Tibet with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and urged China to restart talks with the His Holiness the Dalai Lama, media reports said.After attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the Chinese premier arrived in Berlin on Wednesday on the second leg of his European tour. The trip will take him to Brussels and London. “We talked about the situation in Tibet and from the German side, I emphasised that we have a common interest that talks with the Dalai Lama get under way,” said Merkel at a joint press conference with the Chinese premier.”If there is anything Germany can do in this regard, we would like to help,” Merkel added.In 2007, Chancellor Merkel met with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Berlin despite strong protests from China.
