Gangtok: As part of the Central Tibetan Administration’s ‘Year of Gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’ campaign, the Year of Gratitude committee of Gangtok today inaugurated hoardings illustrating four principal commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Present at the event were Tibetan parliamentarian Youdon Aukatsang, Chairman and members of Local Tibetan Assembly, President of six associations and members of YOG committee.
Due to the Indian government’s imposition of lockdown and restrictions on public gathering, the ceremony was put on hold, however, with the relaxation on public gathering, the project was implemented accordingly.
The hoardings were placed at Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Deorali, in front of Sera Jey Drophenling Monastery, Chandmari, in front of the taxi stand, Vajra and near Supermarket.
The banners were printed in English and Nepali. The colours of the banners represent five colours of Tibetan Buddhist prayer flags that symbolises peace, compassion, wisdom and strength.
