Gangtok: A ceremony of handing and taking-over of charge as the Tibetan Settlement Officer (TSO) of Gangtok was held between the outgoing officiating TSO, Tsering Damdul, and incoming TSO Jinpa Phuntsok on 5 and 6 November 2025. 

Dorjee Rinzin, North East-CRO cum TSO Darjeeling, attended the ceremony as an official witness representing the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). Jinpa takes charge as the new Settlement Officer of the Tibetan Settlement Office, Gangtok, as per the appointment letter received from CTRC, Department of Home, CTA.

During the ceremony, the handing over of office documents, furniture, and account statements was completed on 5 November 2025, and the official meeting with the public regarding the handing over of TSO was held on 6 November 2025, at  Hotel Tibet Hall just after the official seat-exchanging ceremony.

The event was attended by the Vice chairwoman of the Local Tibetan Assembly (LTA), the president of the Six Tibetan Association, representatives from local monasteries, and heads of other local administrative bodies, Sakul Mithue and head of the local community(kyiduk Nyerpa) and the general public.
