Gangtok, Sikkim: Under an initiative of the Gangtok Ghoton Organising Committee, with the Gangtok Language Preservation Committee taking primary responsibility, a four-day workshop starting from 4 to 7 January 2026 was organised at the rooftop hall of Sera-jey Drophenling Monastery, Chandmari, for Tibetan school children residing in Gangtok and several members of the public. The workshop was conducted based on two main topics: how the relationship between successive incarnations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people, who are the subjects of the compassionate aspirations of His Holiness, came about; and to understand the extent of the gratitude felt by Tibetans towards His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama for his tireless work and leadership for the Tibetan people in our long struggle against the Chinese occupation of Tibet.
Thus, the four-day intensive training programme was held and successfully concluded yesterday afternoon. The programme covered ten specific topics under two main subjects and was delivered by ten local resident scholars and key individuals.
