French Senators Assure Support to the Middle Way Approach
Dharamsala 2 May 2005: “We strongly support His Holiness’ Middle-Way Approach. And this is no lip-allegiance. Whenever we meet Chinese leaders we always raise the fact that His Holiness is genuinely committed to peacefully resolve the issue of Tibet through negotiation”, French Senator Louis de Broissia, who is heading a delegation of French senators, said.

The eight-member delegation of French senators who called on His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Friday was briefing the press at a press conference here at the Lhakpa Tsering memorial hall of the Central Tibetan Administration.
“His Holiness is in good health and extremely confident in his efforts to resolve the issue of Tibet”, Senator Louis de Broissia told the press.
The senator also said that he has accepted in principle an invitation, extended by the Chinese Ambassador in France, to visit Tibet.
“Although the details of the visit are yet to be worked out, it is likely to happen sometime next year.”
During this five-day visit, the senators also called on Dolma Gyari, vice chairperson of the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies, Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche and the representatives of the Tibetan NGOs.
