Free Medical Camp in Meerut on His Holiness Birthday
On the special occasion of 70th birth anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lamas, Pandit Deendayal Upadhaya Viklang Jan Sansthan New Delhi, District Blind Control Society Meerut, Kalyanam Karoti and Antershtrya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Simiti jointly organized a free medical camp in Fazalpur, Rotha Road Meerut on Wednesday, 6 July 2005.
In this medical camp 269 patients with visionary problem were examined. Dr. Mohmad Israr (eye specialist) and Dr. Grish Gupta diagnose 64 patients with cataract, and were operated by Dr. V.K. Malik and Dr. Israr at Cantonment General Hospital, Meerut Cantt. with the help of Kalyanam Karoti. Out of 112 eye patients checked by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, 24 of them will be provided with eyeglasses at concessional rate.
Out of 205 handicapped patients examined, organizer decided to give tri-cycle to 57 patients, crutches to 50 patients, caliper to 42 patients, hearing aid to 27 patients, wheelchair to 10 patients and walking stick to 3 patients. Total cost for the above equipments would come around 4 lakh 50 thousand.
