
Dharamshala: Kalon Karma Yeshi of Department of Finance, CTA chaired the 24th annual athletic meet of TCV school Suja yesterday.
The official ceremony of the day began with march pass by the students on the school ground. Indian and Tibetan national anthem were sung along with the school band followed by a moment of silence for people who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of Tibet.
The introductory note was delivered by Namdol Tashi, the Director of TCV school Suja. In his address, he briefed about the school and expressed deep gratitude towards His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Chief Guest Kalon Karma Yeshi encouraged to work on over-all development and growth of an individual through Education and Moral values. He further noted that one should strive to become a potential person to be able to give back to the community.
The theme of the athletic meet being the Environment, Kalon called on all the staff, students and the public to save the environment as this is a significant aspiration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a call of our host nation ‘India’.
Finance Kalon further apprised the athletes that the athletic meet should not be just taken as a competition rather as a responsibility to take care of one’s own health.
He lauded Kasur Jetsun Pema and Tibetan Children as a whole for tireless efforts towards the education of Tibetan Children including civil servants in CTA who have passed out from TCV Suja. Kalon reminded the students to follow their path as well.
Songtsen House was declared the winner of the 24th annual athletic meet. Chief Guest Kalon Karma Yeshi then felicitated all the winners of different games in the respective houses.
Principal Karma Sherab delivered the vote of thanks and concluded the event.
The 24th annual athletic meet was attended by the settlement officers and representatives, Chairman of Local Tibetan Assembly, Heads of the schools, Former TCV Staff and hundred of public.
