
Dharamshala, 15 April 2026: As part of the Year of Compassion celebrations commemorating the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile organised a three-day exhibition titled “Democracy: A Gift of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Tibetan People” at the Upper Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
The exhibition officially commenced at 9:30 AM on 13 April, with the opening attended by TCV’s Administration General Secretary Mingchung, Director Tsultrim Dorjee, Principal Tenzin Choekyi, Headmaster Dorjee, Headmaster Dhondup Gyalpo, and students. Throughout the event, staff members from the Parliamentary Secretariat took turns providing informative briefings, offering students from classes third to twelfth guided introductions to the exhibition in a systematic rotation.
More than 750 students from Upper TCV visited the exhibition. The event effectively enhanced awareness of the lifelong contributions of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, particularly highlighting the development and evolution of Tibetan democracy.
As part of the year-long Year of Compassion initiative, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has successfully organized eleven exhibitions at prominent institutions and locations, including the Main Temple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (Tsuglagkhang, Dharamshala), Sambhota Tibetan School (Shimla), Gaiety Theatre Art Gallery (Shimla), Himachal Pradesh University (Shimla), Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi), St. Stephen’s College (Delhi), Tibetan Youth Hostel (Delhi), Panjab University (Chandigarh), Lovely Professional University (Punjab), Government College (Dharamshala), and the College for Higher Tibetan Studies (Dharamshala).
