
Dharamshala, 5 March 2026: As part of the Year of Compassion celebrations marking the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile organised an exhibition titled “Democracy: A Gift of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Tibetan People” on 5 March 2026, at the Government College in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
The exhibition officially commenced at 11:30 AM with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The inaugural event was attended by Principal Rakesh Pathania (Government College, Dharamshala), Prof. Ashwani Kumar (Head of the Political Science Department), Prof. Sanjay Thakur, as well as students of the Political Science Department and staff from the Parliamentary Secretariat.
Following the opening, Dawa from the Parliamentary Secretariat provided a brief introduction to the exhibition. The gallery remained open to the public until 5:00 PM.
Over 200 students and faculty members from the Government College visited the exhibition. The event successfully raised awareness regarding the lifelong achievements of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the evolutionary stages of Tibetan Democracy.
The organising team from the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat included staff members Dawa, Ashe Bomo, Tenzin Palden, and Tenzin Yungdung.
