EU Coordination Office in Brussels to turn into Office of Tibet

Dharamshala: The Kashag has
announced that the European Union Coordination office based in Brussels
would be turned into office of Tibet (OoT), w.e.f. from 1 April 2008.
The office of Tibet in Paris will operate as a branch of OoT Brussels.
According to the notice, the decision has been taken owing to
Brussels being a political capital of the European Union, where the
European Commission’s Office and EU Parliament are also located in the
city.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama has approved the proposal.
Earlier, on 14 March 2005, a decision was taken to incorporate the Brussels office as a branch of the Office of Tibet, Paris.
The Offices of Tibet are the official agencies of His Holiness
the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration based in
Dharamshala, North India.
There are representative offices in 10 countries, being
supervised by the International Relations of the Department of
Information and International Relations. These offices are located in
New Delhi, India; New York, USA; Geneva, Switzerland; Tokyo, Japan;
London, UK; Canberra, Australia; Paris, France; Moscow, Russia;
Pretoria, South Africa; and Taipei, Taiwan.
