DHARAMSHALA: The Election Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration today sent a reminder to all the local election commissioners to ensure strict adherence to Tibetan electoral rules and regulation ahead of the final election on 20 March.
It particularly specified the following:
- As per article 24 (7) & (9) of the electoral rules and regulation, all campaign related activities (including speeches, debates and posters) from both the candidate and supporters should cease by 18 March. All existing posters should also be removed by the said date.
- On the final Election Day, the local election commissioner should remain alert and contact the local police in advance to pre-empt any unwanted incidents during the final Election Day.
- The ballot box must be secured with a suitable lock and should be kept under constant vigilance of the authorities.
