MIAO: Education Kalon Ngodup Tsering visited Choepheling Tibetan settlement in Miao from Tezu on 20 April. Upon his arrival, he made inspection visits to the local settlement office, monasteries, old people’s home, crèche, branch clinics of health department, and the local kindergarten.
The next day on 21 April, he visited Sambhota Tibetan school and observed dialectical debate sessions, cultural performances and poetry recitations by the students. He also addressed the students and teachers of the school on the importance of preserving Tibetan culture.
In the afternoon of the same day, he gave a public talk to the Tibetan community on 15th Kashag’s five-fifty strategy, security of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, sustenance of Tibetan settlements, etc.
He informed the public of the 15th Kashag’s plan to observe 2018 as year of gratitude to India and declared 2017 as year of campaigns. He further reaffirmed the Central Tibetan Administration’s firm commitment to resolve Tibet issue through the Middle Way Approach.
He left Miao in the evening for Tenzingang via Dibrugarh.
