
Education Kalon (Minister) Tharlam Dolma Changra being welcome at TCV Sumdho.
Ladakh: Education Kalon (Minister) Tharlam Dolma Changra paid a visit to Tibetan Children Village Sumdho, accompanied by the Chief Representative Officer of Ladakh, the Director and Principal of TCV Ladakh, the Jangthang coordinator, and staff from the CRO Ladakh. The visit was warmly welcomed by the Local Tibetan Assembly member, the school headmaster, Sumdho community coordinator, Sumdho camp leader, teachers, staff, students, and residents.
During her visit to school, Kalon observed all classes, including the kitchen and hostel facilities. She engaged with both students and teachers, expressing her gratitude for the teachers’ and staff’s unwavering dedication to educating Tibetan children despite the remote and harsh conditions. The school headmaster took this opportunity to address the school’s challenges and immediate needs to Kalon.
Following the school tour, Kalon visited an old and a new community guest houses, as well as the community hall. She further assessed the community hand pump, which has become difficult to use. She had discussions with the Local Tibetan Assembly and Sumdho camp leader highlighted the urgent needs and issues faced by the residents, ensuring that the Kalon was well-informed of the community’s concerns.
