New Delhi: The 10th Meeting of the Governing Body of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (Registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860/R.No.S-E/403) and the 18th Meeting of the Governing Body of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (Registered under Societies Registration Act, 2006/R.No.470/2006) were held on 12 December 2024 (F/N & A/N respectively) at the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New Delhi.  

The 10th Meeting of the Governing Body of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society was graced by the presence of seven members out of eight. The meeting was chaired by Chairperson Kalon (Minister) Tharlam Dolma Changra, Department of Education (DoE), Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), in attendance of the Vice Chairperson Jigmey Namgyal (Secretary, DoE, CTA Dharamshala); S.N Gulia – Member (Jt. Commissioner, Fin. KVS HQ, Delhi); Jigmey Jungney (The Representative, Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi); Ven Geshe Lhakdor- Member (Director, LTWA, Dharamshala); Sonam Sichoe – Member (President, TCV Head Office, Dharamshala); and Tsering Dhondup – Member Secretary (Director, STSS, Dharamshala).  

In her opening remarks, Chairperson of STSS Governing Body Kalon Tharlam Dolma Changra welcomed the new Governing Body member Jigmey Jungney, the Representative at the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, followed by offering of a traditional scarf to him on behalf of the Society.   

Many significant agendas pertaining to the administration were discussed and approved with the required guidance of the Governing Body members for the welfare of STSS.  

The 18th Meeting of the Governing Body of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 2006/R.No.470/2006) was also graced by the presence of six members out of seven, chaired by Kaon Tharlam Dolma Changra, Chairperson of the Governing Body.

Vice Chairperson Jigmey Namgyal (Secretary, DoE, CTA Dharamshala); Ven Geshe Lhakdor- Member (Director, LTWA, Dharamshala); Sonam Sichoe – Member (President, TCV Head Office, Dharamshala); Passang Tsering – Member (Principal, CHTS, Sarah Dharamshala); and Tsering Dhondup – Member Secretary (Director, STSS, Dharamshala) as the members attended this meeting.   

The agendas proposed before the Governing Body members were thoroughly discussed and approved, and the required guidance was given to STSS accordingly.   

Both the meetings of the 10th Governing Body and the 18th Governing Body were concluded productively as scheduled by the Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society.
